Is your laptop plugged in not charging?  This almost certainly means that your laptop charger not working and needs to get fixed for it to start charging again.  We know the feeling, as we’ve been there ourselves, but we will gladly offer you our years of advice and do whatever it takes to get your laptop charger working again.

The first thing you should do when your laptop plugged in not charging is verify the reason why your laptop charger not working.  It could be for several reasons and not just because there is a problem with your laptop charger.  For example, your laptop charger not working may be because there is a problem with the software on your laptop, there is a problem with your wall outlet, or there may even be a small problem on your laptop charger is set up.

As stated above, the first thing you need to do is to determine exactly why your laptop plugged in not charging.  This is something we have discussed on other pages but you’d be surprised on how overlooked this little step is.  We assure you if you follow the steps in this order you will have a much better chance of getting your laptop working again.

The first thing you problem want to do is get a similar laptop charger from a friend or even maybe borrow one from a hardware store.  It is very likely that there is a similar laptop charger around that will work for your laptops.  All MacBooks for example use the same exact charger and most Dell and Acer laptops use the same few laptop chargers.  Unless you have a very obscure laptop it is likely you will find a similar laptop charger.

Next what you should do is try to see if this new laptop charger will work.  If it does, it is almost certain that the reason why your laptop charger not working is because of a problem with your laptop charger.  But if it does charge than there could be another possible problem which is issues with your software on your laptop or even a problem with the wall outlets in your house.  If this is the case, find out if there are electricity problems in your wall.  Also, it may be recommended to reformat your hard drive from scratch because the driver configurations have altered your software OS and are preventing your laptop charger from working right.  This is a last resort option, however.
